Same-day dental implants in Houston
Same-day means something specific here: when your bone and the implant's initial stability allow it, the implant goes in and a temporary tooth goes on in a single visit. When they don't, we tell you at the planning stage, not after surgery. The 3D CBCT scan at your consultation is free: (713) 322-7474.
Book a consultationWhat same-day dental implants actually mean
The implant is placed and, if it reaches enough initial stability in the bone, a temporary tooth is attached before you leave, so you never walk out with a gap. That temporary is designed to look right and speak clearly; it is deliberately not built for hard chewing, because the implant underneath is still fusing with the bone. The final crown goes on after integration, usually a few months later, and that is the tooth built to eat with. One visit for the implant and the temporary, one shorter visit for the final crown.
Who can get a same-day implant, honestly
Healthy gums, enough bone, and no active infection at the site are the entry requirements, and the deciding number is measured during surgery: how firmly the implant seats in your bone. If it reaches the stability the plan calls for, the temporary goes on the same day. If it does not, we protect the implant and stage the tooth a few months later rather than gamble the implant on a deadline. Either path ends in the same place; only the calendar differs.
How dental implants work at Omega
An implant on the day of your extraction
If a tooth cannot be saved, the most efficient version of same-day is placing the implant into the socket at the same visit as the extraction, when the CBCT scan and the condition of the socket allow it. When they do not, a socket-preservation graft placed that same day holds the ridge's shape so the implant can follow on the shortest safe timeline. Either way, nothing about your case waits on a referral: the extraction, the graft and the implant happen in one practice.

A full arch in a day is All-on-4 territory
If the question is a whole row of teeth rather than one or two, same-day works differently: four to six implants support a fixed temporary arch attached the day of surgery. That treatment has its own page, its own planning and its own economics, and it is where we cover the four-versus-six decision.

What same-day implant treatment costs
The fee comes from the same published schedule whether your implant is placed same-day or staged; the calendar does not change the price. What can add to a case is what the case genuinely needs: an extraction, a graft, or sedation, each itemized on the written quote before you commit.

Why one building matters on a one-day timeline
Same-day treatment only works when nobody has to drive across town between steps. Our oral and maxillofacial surgeons, Dr. Jonathan Rosenstein and Dr. Edmund Watkins, place the implant; Dr. Mohsen Khobyari, who has placed more than 10,000 implants, and Dr. Evan Melamed handle the tooth that goes on it; and if your gums need treatment first, our periodontist Dr. Shirin Farhadian works in the same building. The CBCT scanner is on site, so planning, surgery and the temporary all happen under one roof.

Frequently asked questions
Can a dental implant really be done in one day?
The implant and a temporary tooth, yes, when the implant reaches enough initial stability during surgery. The final crown still comes after the bone has fused to the implant, usually a few months later. Any office promising a permanent finished tooth in one day is describing the temporary.
Can everyone get same-day dental implants?
No. Active infection, soft bone, heavy grinding forces or too little bone can make loading an implant the same day a bad bet. The stability measurement at surgery makes the call, and when same-day is not safe we stage the tooth instead. The end result is the same either way.
How much do same-day dental implants cost in Houston?
A single implant with its abutment and crown is $3,500 at our office, on the same fee schedule whether it is placed same-day or staged. An extraction is $290, a socket-preservation graft is $650, and IV sedation is $1,500 per appointment. Everything goes on one written quote before you commit. Call (713) 322-7474 for today's fee.
Can I eat normally the same day?
Plan on a soft diet while the implant integrates. The same-day temporary is built to look right and speak clearly, not to chew steak; the final crown that follows integration is the one built for normal eating.
Can the implant go in on the same day my tooth is pulled?
Often, yes. When the CBCT scan and the condition of the socket allow it, the implant is placed into the socket at the extraction visit. When they do not, a graft placed the same day protects the site so the implant can follow on the shortest safe timeline.
