New Patients

Your first visit, planned out

No paperwork surprises. No hidden costs. We verify your insurance before you arrive and walk you through every step. Most new-patient slots open within the week.

Before You Arrive

What to bring

Photo ID

Driver's license, state ID, or passport. Required for medical records under Texas law.

Insurance card

Even if you're unsure whether we take it. We verify in real time before your visit.

Medication list

Any prescriptions, OTC meds, vitamins, or supplements you take regularly. Drug interactions matter for sedation and antibiotics.

Prior X-rays (if recent)

If you've had dental X-rays at another office in the last 12 months, ask that office to send a copy before your visit. Call us at (713) 322-7474 and our front desk will coordinate the transfer. It saves you a fresh round and the radiation dose.

Forms come pre-filled if you book online. Most patients spend under 5 minutes at the front desk on arrival. Download patient forms here to fill out before you arrive.

The Flow

How your first visit goes

Step 1

Book online or by phone

Same-week appointments available. Tell us your concern and we'll route you to the right specialist, not a generalist who'll refer you out later. Spanish-speaking staff every day.

Step 2

We verify your insurance

Before your visit we confirm coverage with your carrier and give you a written out-of-pocket estimate. No "surprise" bills.

Step 3

Comprehensive exam (60 minutes)

Digital X-rays, oral-cancer screening, periodontal probing, intraoral camera tour, and a one-on-one consultation with the right specialist for your case. Plenty of time for questions.

Step 4

Treatment plan + transparent costs

Before you leave, you have a clear plan: what's recommended, what insurance covers, what financing looks like, and what's optional vs. urgent. We do not pressure-sell.

Costs & Coverage

What it costs

The standard new-patient visit is $199 self-pay, covering the exam, X-rays, oral-cancer screening, and consultation. Insurance usually covers most or all of this. We accept most major PPO plans and run a no-cost benefits check before your visit.

If you don't have insurance, ask about our Annual Membership Plan: $399/year covers two cleanings, exams, X-rays, and gives 15% off any other procedure.

Financing for larger cases is available through Cherry and Sunbit. Most patients qualify in minutes, often with 0% APR plans.

Common Questions

What new patients ask

How early should I arrive?

If you've completed forms online beforehand, 5 minutes before your appointment is plenty. If you're filling out forms at the office, give yourself 15 minutes.

Where do I park?

Free patient parking on-site at 106 W Gray St. Street parking is also available on West Gray and Bagby. The Midtown Metro bus routes stop a block away.

Will I get treatment on the first visit?

For emergencies, often yes. For routine first visits, we typically use the appointment to diagnose and plan. That said, simple procedures like a single filling or a cleaning are frequently done same-day if time allows.

I'm anxious about the dentist. What can I do?

Tell us when you book. We have three sedation options: nitrous oxide ("laughing gas"), oral sedation, and IV sedation by our oral surgeons. The team is genuinely good with anxious patients. You're not the first to dread the chair; we work with you, not against you.

Can I bring a translator or family member?

Always. Spanish-speaking staff are available every day if you prefer. For other languages, family or interpreters are welcome. Let us know when booking so we hold a slightly longer slot.

I'm bringing my child for their first visit. What's different?

We see kids from age 3. Pediatric first visits are 30 minutes: exam, gentle cleaning, fluoride, plus time for the parent to ask questions. We aim to make it the opposite of scary.
