Dr. Shirin Farhadian, DDS
Dr. Shirin Farhadian is the periodontist at Omega Dental Specialists. She is a board-certified periodontist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. She completed her periodontics residency at Saint Louis University and has practiced for several years as both a periodontist and a Level 3 anesthesiologist.
Periodontics is the specialty focused on the gums and the bone that support your teeth. At Omega, Dr. Farhadian diagnoses and treats gum disease at every stage, from early gingivitis to advanced periodontitis, and performs procedures such as deep cleanings (scaling and root planing), gum grafting to cover exposed roots, and the bone and soft tissue work that prepares a site for a dental implant. Healthy gums are the foundation for nearly everything else in dentistry: crowns, veneers, and implants all depend on the tissue and bone around them.
Her years of practice as a Level 3 anesthesiologist matter here as well. Periodontal care is often surgical, and her anesthesia experience supports patient comfort and safety throughout those procedures.
As part of Omega's multi-specialty team, Dr. Farhadian works in the same office as oral surgeons, endodontists, an orthodontist, and general and cosmetic dentists. When gum treatment is one step in a larger plan, such as preparing bone for an implant or getting the gums healthy before orthodontic or cosmetic work, the doctors coordinate with each other directly instead of sending you from office to office.
