Omega Dental Specialists is committed to making this website accessible to all visitors, including those with disabilities. We follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), the technical standard recognized by the U.S. Department of Justice for ADA Title III compliance.
Conformance Level
This website is designed and maintained to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We test our compliance using:
- Google Lighthouse automated accessibility audits
- WAVE (WebAIM) accessibility evaluation
- Manual keyboard-only navigation testing
- Screen-reader compatibility checks (VoiceOver and NVDA)
- Color contrast verification on every text and icon pair
What This Means in Practice
Visitors using assistive technology can expect:
- Keyboard accessibility: every interactive element (menus, buttons, forms, modals) is operable using only a keyboard
- Screen-reader support: semantic HTML, descriptive headings, ARIA labels where needed, and alt text on every image
- Visual accessibility: all body text meets a 4.5:1 contrast ratio minimum; icons and buttons meet 3:1 for non-text contrast
- Touch targets: every clickable element on mobile meets the WCAG 2.5.5 minimum touch-target size of 24 × 24 pixels
- Predictable navigation: consistent layout, no surprise pop-ups, no auto-playing media
- Form clarity: every form field has a visible label, clear error messaging, and instructions where needed
- Language declaration: pages declare their language so screen readers pronounce content correctly. Spanish content lives at the /es/ subtree.
- Reduced motion: the hero slideshow respects the
prefers-reduced-motionmedia query for users with vestibular sensitivity
Known Limitations
We work hard to maintain accessibility, but no website is perfect. Known areas where users may encounter difficulty:
- Third-party embedded content (Google Maps, social-sharing widgets) is governed by those providers and may not fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA
- The interactive insurance checker uses live chat patterns that may behave differently in older screen-reader versions
- Some patient-uploaded review content may not include accessible alt text
If you encounter content on this site that you cannot access, please contact us. We will work with you to provide the information in an alternative format and address the issue in the next site update.
