Do I Need Sedation for Wisdom Teeth Removal?
Sedation is not required for all wisdom tooth extractions, but it dramatically improves the experience for most patients - especially for multiple impacted teeth or anxiety-prone individuals.

Your Options at Omega
Local anesthesia alone numbs the area completely - you feel no pain but remain fully aware. IV sedation puts you into a deeply relaxed, semi-conscious state where most patients have no memory of the procedure. Nitrous oxide (laughing gas) offers mild, short-lived relaxation.
Our Recommendation
Dr. Addamo recommends IV sedation for most four-tooth extractions, particularly when teeth are impacted. You recover in our monitored post-op bay and are discharged when fully alert. A driver home is required after IV sedation.
