Dr. Parastou Terrany, DDS
Dr. Parastou Terrany is an endodontist at Omega Dental Specialists who has practiced dentistry for over 20 years. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) with high honors from the University of Paris V - Rene Descartes in 1997. After six years in general practice, she focused her career on endodontics with a clear purpose: helping patients get out of pain and save their natural teeth.
Root canal treatment is the heart of endodontics. When decay, a crack, or an injury reaches the nerve inside a tooth, a root canal removes the infected or damaged tissue, cleans and seals the canal system, and lets you keep the tooth itself. At Omega, Dr. Terrany performs root canals as well as retreatments of earlier root canals that have not healed or have become reinfected. For many patients, her work is the difference between living with a persistent toothache and keeping a comfortable, natural tooth for years to come.
Her six years in general practice came before her specialty focus, which means she worked across the full range of everyday dentistry before narrowing in on the root canal system.
Dr. Terrany works with referring dentists across Houston as well as with Omega's own patients. When a dentist sends a patient for a root canal or a retreatment, she treats the tooth, sends a written report with her findings and what was done, and returns the patient to their own dentist for the final crown and their ongoing care. If a tooth cannot be saved, she says so plainly and outlines the options, so the referring dentist and the patient can decide the next step together.
