Dr. Bernard Boback, DMD, MS
Known to his patients as "Dr. Bernie," Dr. Bernard Boback is the orthodontist at Omega Dental Specialists. He attended Harvard University School of Dental Medicine, where he earned the Grace Milliken Award for Best Thesis in the class of 2014 and graduated Cum Laude in Research. He completed his residency at the UCLA School of Dentistry, earning his certificate in Orthodontics along with a Master of Science in Oral Biology in 2017.
At Omega, Dr. Bernie plans and oversees orthodontic treatment, from traditional braces to clear aligners such as Invisalign. His view of the work goes beyond straightening teeth for the camera: he sees proper dental occlusion, the way the upper and lower teeth come together, as both an aesthetic and a functional requirement for overall health and well-being. A well-aligned bite looks good, but it also chews better, wears more evenly, and is easier to keep clean.
Working alongside the other dental specialists at Omega is an essential part of his philosophy. Orthodontic treatment often intersects with gum health, restorative dentistry, and oral surgery, and practicing in the same office as those doctors means every case can be planned as a whole rather than in pieces.
Just as central to his approach is the patient. Dr. Bernie focuses on keeping patients motivated throughout treatment and considers them integral to its success: orthodontics unfolds over many months, and a patient who understands the plan and stays engaged with it is a real part of what makes it work.
