Dr. Samira Thompson is a proud native Texan. She attended Health Careers High School in her hometown of San Antonio. She earned her bachelor’s in biology, graduating Summa Cum Laude from UTSA. She attended UT Health Science Center San Antonio dental school and graduated Magna Cum Laude. Subsequently, she entered active-duty service in the United States Army. She completed a 12-month Advanced education general dentistry (AEGD) residency at Fort Carson, CO in Colorado Springs in 2007 and an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at Dwight David Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Augusta, GA in 2013. During the remainder of her 13 years of Army service, she served as residency faculty and assistant program director educating both Army and Air Force oral surgery residents at two different programs. She also performed research at the prestigious United States Army Institute of Surgical Research. She served as staff and trained AEGD and Oral Surgery residents at the Veterans Medical Center in San Antonio for 1.5 years. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. After 14.5 years of combined federal government service, she has joined our team at “OMEGA”. She is still serving in the United States Army Reserves. Dr. Thompson is dedicated to treating all her patients like family with exceptional care and education.
In the Army, Dr. Samira Thompson met her husband, Dr. Jeremy Thompson. They have a beautiful 5.5-year-old daughter and 3 dogs. Dr. Thompson enjoys spending time with her family, working out on her Peloton bike, running, training standard poodles, and brunch. She is excited about joining our team and becoming part of the dental community in Houston, TX.
