After obtaining his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 2003, and practicing dentistry for over a decade, In 2013, he enrolled into a program for implant dentistry and periodontology at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. Where he is now a board-certified periodontist.
The current main focus for Dr. Sharifzadeh is managing soft tissue in the vicinity of implants and natural teeth. He has written multiple book chapters and articles about these procedures, as well as implant esthetics.
Dr. Sharifzadeh currently teaches periodontology as a visiting part-time faculty member. He is a member of multiple professional organizations, including the European Academy of Osseointegration, the (worldwide) Academy of Osseointegration, and the American Academy of Periodontology. He also possesses multiple credentials, including a periodontology and implant dentistry advanced certificate. He has a Master’s in oral and craniofacial biology.
