Acceledent is a dental mouthpiece that utilizes SoftPulse technology to speed up the process of orthodontic treatment. This technology uses precisely calibrated tiny vibrations, otherwise known as micropulses, to gently speed up the movement of the teeth while a straightening treatment in in progress. Acceledent is designed to work in tandem with traditional orthodontic smile reconstructing strategies such as braces. Since it was introduced in the year 2009, Acceledent has been successfully used on thousands of patients from across the globe. Available by prescription only, it is approved by the FDA and is one of the most effective ways of making orthodontic treatment faster and more comfortable.
Anyone who is interested in accelerating the process of their orthodontic treatment while making it more comfortable should speak with their orthodontist about the possibility of incorporating Acceledent into their tooth straightening program. Because it is only worn for about 20 minutes per day, it doesn’t cause significant inconvenience, so it can be used even by those who have very busy schedules. Patients with sensitive teeth can use it as well because the micropulses are extremely gentle, exerting only about eight times the force of a conventional power toothbrush.
